Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin rejuvenation treatment can help reduce signs of facial aging, including sun damage, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and fatigue. Our experienced plastic surgeon, Dr. John P. Zimmermann, employs state-of-the-art laser techniques at our practice, including the ActiveFX™ system. The ActiveFX™ system is a non-surgical cosmetic enhancement technique designed to renew your skin and give it a healthier, more vibrant appearance.
Benefits of Laser Skin Resurfacing
The ActiveFX™ system can improve a number of skin conditions affecting an array of body areas, including the arms, hands, face, neck and chest. Laser skin resurfacing can reduce signs of:
- Fine lines
- Acne scarring
- Sun spots
- Skin discoloration
Laser skin resurfacing treatments can also be performed in conjunction with surgical procedures such as facelift or eyelid surgery for a more complete cosmetic makeover. During your initial consultation with Dr. Zimmermann, he will discuss all aspects of treatment with you and help you determine if laser skin resurfacing is right for your goals.
Laser Skin Resurfacing Procedure
Laser skin resurfacing involves the gentle elimination of damaged outer layers of the skin to reveal the healthier skin underneath. The ActiveFX™ laser releases pulses of laser energy deep into the targeted areas to encourage collagen growth for a more refreshed, energized appearance. Laser skin resurfacing has become so advanced, it is now more possible than ever to precisely target the affected areas of skin while leaving surrounding healthy tissues unharmed.
Laser skin resurfacing can be performed on an outpatient basis and may require several treatment sessions to give you the best results. Each session can take 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the number and size of the treatment areas.
