Arm Lift

It’s very common for the skin along the upper areas of the arms to lose firmness and become inelastic over time. The natural process of aging, weight loss, and other factors can lead to an accumulation of skin in the arms that is very difficult to improve even with the most rigorous exercise routine. Arm lift surgery can eliminate this excess skin and tighten the remainder for a more youthful and toned appearance.

Arm Lift Procedure

Arm lift surgery, medically referred to as “brachioplasty”, involves the careful removal of excess, sagging skin in the upper arms, while the remaining skin is pulled taut. Dr. John Zimmermann will make a discreet incision on the area of the arm that is least visible to others, so that any residual scarring will be as unnoticeable as possible. He will eliminate the inelastic skin and then tighten the remaining skin, ultimately giving the upper arms a smoother and firmer appearance. Liposuction is often used to simultaneously decrease the fatty bulk of the remaining tissue.

Arm lift surgery is typically performed as an outpatient. Most patients are able to resume normal daily routines within one week after the procedure; however, excess strain on the arms will need to be avoided for a few weeks. Dr. Zimmermann will meet with you for an initial consultation to discuss all aspects of arm lift surgery, including what you can expect during the recovery process.
